Key Features

COSENSE® Carbon Monoxide Detection Technology

Designed to help protect you and your household, COSENSE® monitors for elevated carbon monoxide levels and automatically shuts down the generator when dangerous CO levels are detected. The system provides an added layer of protection against carbon monoxide hazards.

Important: Never operate a portable generator indoors, inside a garage, or in an enclosed or partially enclosed space. Always operate it outdoors, far away from doors, windows, and vents, according to the manufacturer’s safety instructions.

PowerRush™ Advanced Technology

PowerRush™ delivers over 40% more starting capacity than the applicable baseline, helping the generator handle the initial power demands of compatible motor-driven equipment. This added starting capability lets you do more with your available power.

Durable OHV Engine

Generac’s overhead-valve (OHV) engine features splash lubrication to support reliable operation and long engine life.

Low-Oil Pressure Shutdown

The automatic low-oil protection feature helps safeguard the engine against damage by shutting it down when oil pressure becomes too low.

Large-Capacity Steel Fuel Tank

The durable steel fuel tank includes an integrated fuel gauge for convenient fuel-level monitoring. The generator provides up to 10.5 hours of runtime at 50% load, helping you maintain power for extended periods between refueling.

Heavy-Duty Steel Tube Cradle

A hardened 1¼-inch steel tube cradle adds structural strength and durability, making the generator suitable for demanding portable-power applications.

Integrated Hour Meter

The hour meter tracks operating time, helping you monitor maintenance intervals and keep up with routine servicing.

Heavy-Duty, Never-Flat Wheels

Rugged, never-flat wheels make it easier to move the generator across uneven ground and challenging terrain.

Fold-Down Handle

The sturdy fold-down handle improves portability and allows for more compact storage when the generator is not in use.

Ideal Applications

The Generac GP6500 is suitable for:

• Home backup power for compatible appliances and equipment

• Outdoor projects and jobsite use

• Recreational activities requiring portable power

• Powering compatible motor-driven equipment that benefits from increased starting capacity
